Measure Up 05:37
In between, you and me What we are and what we could be Describe to me what you see Every little detail of that scene Do I measure up Am I good enough, am I sinking Did you let enough sail out I’ve been watching you Watching you, watching me And I’ve studied every inch of what I see Running for the door Just like Clockwork I won’t recover, nor Will I prosper Do I measure up Am and good enough for you Qualify, you and I Graded by our trials and our lies Satisfied, we waste our lives Concerned with what is on the other’s mind Do I measure up Am I good enough, am I falling Did you get a good liftoff I’ve been trusting you Can you say the same to me ‘Cause I tell you I’m not proud of what I see Running for the door Just like Clockwork I won’t recover, nor Will I prosper Do I measure up Am and good enough for you So I take my time No, no reason or rhyme Running for the door Just like Clockwork I won’t recover, nor Will I prosper Do I measure up Am and good enough for you

Midnight 05:41
Daydreaming at night ‘cause I can’t get to sleep And painting a pair of shoes onto my feet Braiding the wool when I’m done counting sheep And making myself one more promise to keep Expressing myself with the words on the page Struggling to find a new thought to engage Coat hanging neatly on my bedroom door Napsack slung lazily onto the floor And the epiphany’s in sight I write at night just to fill the dark with brand new light Synthesize before my eyes The state to midnight illuminate The overpass, the shadow cast Like a rainbow here at last Now habits are habits, not rules you can break They’re tricky to realize and tougher to fake Like going to bed but still lying awake The epiphany rises, to sleep is mistake Stare at the ceiling, still counting the tile Hoping to hell I can make it worthwhile Whatever the outcome as long as you’re true It’s over, it’s ended, become something new And the epiphany’s in sight I write at night just to fill the dark with brand new light Synthesize before my eyes The state to midnight illuminate The overpass, the shadow cast Like a rainbow here at last The epiphany’s in sight I write at night Synthesize before my eyes The state to midnight illuminate The overpass, the shadow cast Like a rainbow here at last

Saddle up, take a seat, pick up the telephone Swallow hard, dial me, and know you’re all alone Now you’re out on the town just like you own the place Then get home, check the glass, and know it’s all in vain You say you’re never gonna know for sure But it’s not that easy No, I’m not that bored Well maybe I’m a little insecure But it ain’t worth hanging If you’re gonna close that door So say it once, for all Hey what’s it gonna be? Batter up, take the hit and glove it down again Fill the cup with the bitterness until the end Now you’re out on the town, slipped on your poker face Speed it up, take it off, and learn to keep the pace You say you’re never gonna know for sure But it’s not that easy No I’m not that bored Well maybe I’m a little insecure But it ain’t worth hanging If you’re gonna close that door So say it once, for all Well what’s it gonna be Let’s go, speak quick, walk tall Quit lying through your teeth Or did I skip a beat You say you’re never gonna know for sure But it’s not that easy No I’m not that bored Well maybe I’m a little insecure But it ain’t worth hanging If you’re gonna close that door So say it once, for all Well what’s it gonna be Let’s go, speak quick, walk tall Quit lying through your teeth Or did I skip a beat?
